It's Like a Party Every Day

I don't know that I have written anything about The Pants' recent career change.
The nursery officially sold in the beginning of March and within two weeks he was done at the nursery.
It was a bit of a shock and a little scary. He transitioned full-time to the investment company he and his dad had started a few years earlier, Phillip Russell Investments (PRI). Since that time he has been working from home in his ridiculous man cave office. I've been assured three giant computer screens, a laptop, a desktop and a huge t.v. actually are necessary for an Options trader! He usually works here 2 or 3 days/week and the others at the office at his parents' house.
I've been asked many, many times how I'm holding up having The Pants work from home. With complete sincerity I respond, "It's like a party every day." And I mean it. He wakes up at 5 am but he can often be done by 2 or so. The nature of his job also makes it so I'm not concerned if Nanners happens to wander into his office to beg him for chocolate from his candy jar. She usually gets treated to a spin in his office chair when she does. When he doesn't need a nap after work we get to hang out during the light of day too-which is so fabulous because we've gotten to really enjoy doing fun things in Portland. I'm also so grateful that he is getting to see what days are really like with Nanners--the good, the bad and the lovely. Their relationship has become something much different than it was. He is now a co-parent which was initially disconcerting for me, making me feel a little lost and useless. However, I've come to revel in it. It's really become the ideal situation--so much less pressure to be a perfect mother and a little more time for myself-Hallelujah!

We know that the fund will have an office one day, but as for now we are savoring the time we have to party every day with the coolest person we know.
