A Lovely Week!

Last week was such a good week, so in the spirit of gratitude I thought I should blog about it. We have been gearing up for Hood to Coast and trying to be consistent in running. So on Thursday, my friend, Carrie, and I met two of our young women girls to go running on the waterfront in the blazing sun. It was so fun gossiping about Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus and feeling like a teenager again. Then that night I met my parents and 14-year old niece, Ashley, and moseyed around the Pearl's farmer's market and got fresh cherries and peaches. Then we had dinner at our favorite taqueria, Por que No? Mmmm...they have such good guacamole and tacos-plus my gluten-free Mom can eat almost everything on the menu.

On Saturday, Mike and I went to flugtag to see a bunch of crazy people drive their float-like vehicles into the river. It was so crowded that we couldn't even get close to the launching pad so we watched a few from the jumbotrons that were set up and then we headed off to Saturday Market to embrace some Portland culture. We emerged victorious with deep fried, sugar-coated, elephant ear goodness.

On Sunday we had my parents over for bento and then Ashley and I had a sleep over (Wow, did I hear all about the Twilight series books). I have decided I must read them, or run the risk of never being cool again. The next day we made the trek to Tacoma to take Ashley to EFY, and I can't tell you how great that was! It took everything I had not to bust out a line dance or do the EFY cheer (alright, alright...you know the rest), but I persevered. Apparently she had a great time too, she even cried when she had to leave. It was probably because she had to return to her crazy grandparents and aunts!

I love good weeks, and I am fortunate to get lots of them.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. My mom and brother and nephew are all gluten-free. I will have to keep that place in mind.
