Beachy Keen.

We just got back from a Horey family vacation at the coast. We had a lot of fun and accomplished many great things like...

1) Finishing the book Twilight.
I will say (and I know its blasphemy to say this in some circles), that I was pretty sick of it for the first 250 pages. It seemed like a young-adult, Harlequin romance novel being masked as an edgy, vampire book. I kept reading it hoping every person that I love and trust wouldn't lead me a stray in telling me to read it. It finally redeemed itself and I'm now sucked into reading the next 3!

2) Hanging out with Noah.
We had a great time watching our 2-year-old nephew enjoy all the freedom his apartment in Manhattan doesn't have. We are hoping that means he'll convince his mom and dad to move to Oregon soon.

3) Watching Jon and Mike skimboard in 20 degree water, and trying it out myself.

4) Exploring the tide pools (and candy shops) with our Moms.

5) Finding this giant starfish in the tide pools.

6) Eating until we wanted to barf and then going for dessert.

7) Posing for ridiculous pictures like these.

8) Playing an obscene amount of Nerts games and working on a glow-in-the-dark dolphin puzzle.

9) Digging holes in the sand and playing interpretive dance Frisbee, both very sophisticated activities.

10) Learning how to use our camera's timer function.
Yay for family pictures...and a great family!

We're off to another beach in 2 weeks and I can hardly wait. We'll have to see what the Jersey Shore has to offer us.

See, it is a fun series of books. I would never lead you astray. I enjoyed coming down to the beach and spending the day with the Horey family. Thanks for the invitation and the visit to the tide pool!
