New Year, New Blog

I'm not a free thinker. Never have been, never will be.
My brain thinks in outlines or more succinctly--in 5-paragraph essays.
So naturally my goals for 2011 are organized in an outline.
Each derived from the roles I now find myself in at this point in my life.
Please note--this is a HUGE step for me! You may applaud if it feels right.
I have hitherto been kicking against the pricks of my roles.
And so with the commencement of 2011 I've decided to own them and rock them.

This is where it actually means something to you--my five loyal readers.
Hi Grandma, and occasionally Mom.

I want my blog to accurately depict who I am and what I actually do.
So this year I am going to spice up the blog by posting just that.

A few of the things I'm toying with already:
Mom Jeans Monday--If you haven't seen this SNL skit please watch it.
This will include tidbits I'm learning as I parent a darling babe. Pictures of that darling babe. And other mom related things.
Hip, Hip Hooray for Hipsters--To include fun things to do in this oh-so-hip city, restaurant reviews and maybe a flannel shirt or two. Also, fingers crossed for a very talented guest blogger who is privy to all things Portland. And please tell me you'll be watching this to venerate our fine city on January 21st.
Works in Progress--a very embarrassingly novice approach to sewing--seriously I don't even know how to thread a bobbin--and other crafty endeavors.
Tuna Noodle Casserole--a step by step look at recipes I'm trying and a dissertation on why I like pie.
Then Sings my Soul Sundays--ponderings, queries and the virtuous, lovely and of good report I come across in this world.

If you're still following; I'm an industrious Oregonian mom in need of a spiritual boost who happens to cook because her family needs to eat.

(And because anyone who knows me knows I am terrible with commitment, I've decided not to promise too much--but instead hopefully underpromise and over deliver. This allows me to add and retract whatever I see fit.)

Happy New Year fellow bloggers!
Here's to owning who you are and rockin it!

I haven't posted to my blog in over 6 months, so you're way ahead of me just by making these resolutions. Looking forward to the new stuff (and beating your grandma and mom at number of comments made)!

I'm excited to see what lies ahead. And inspired by your questioning and reflecting and plan of action. And always wishing I could comment more often, but happy to at least be able to read and catch up every now and then.
