We are having a (I'm sure lovely) baby GIRL.
The Goodwin estrogen genes win!
It was great to have a visual confirmation that I am indeed having a baby and not a kitten.
Really, up until the ultrasound it was difficult for me to grasp that all this sickness and a growing stomach was actually producing a human being.
It's still a bit surreal.
All her appendages and vital organs were accounted for. Quite a relief.
I also had to ask if her head looked to be normal-sized.
The Pant's head is rather large and I'm a little anxious about trying to birth a Frankenstein head (The Pants is related to Boris Karloff--Frankenstein).
They assured me it looked normal-let's hope it stays that way.
Here she is posing for the camera.

The ultrasound techs said she was a "very active baby" and they had to chase her to get all the views they needed. They may tell everyone that, I'm not sure.
A few reasons I'm excited for a girl:
clothes with bum ruffles
The Pants was made to be a Dad to girls
She'll be the first girl for her Gpa and Gma Horey
She'll have lots of company on my side of the family
She'll feel at home in Young Women's
and
I am not cut out to raise a girl so this will provide quite a challenge.
And lastly,
We will be drawing from the "girl guessers" tonight. So stay tuned to see who wins.
Both ultrasound techs own snuggies and love them.
I think it was meant to be.

I think you'll know how to handle the girliness a little better than I know how to handle it. I'll be there from 29 Dec - 7 Jan. Can we hang? (pie or no pie...though I would like a pie!)
Hooray for girls. I'm so excited for bum ruffles and bows and cute girly pinkness erupting all over your life.
I'm glad she is healthy! Cheers to a girl and not a kitten.
